As I am not involved in the business world, I thought I might be bored by this book However, I soon realized this was not just about hedge funds, but about the complexity of relationships and decisions one must make in life It made me ask the question at several points what would I have done in this situation I immediately liked the main characters, so it was easy to be interested in, and to empathize with, the twists and turns of their lives. This book has no action at all to it It drags on following the key figure, Jaz on his journeys talking to clients about staying in his fund There is an employee who cooks the books but the author does not expand on this at all The author seems to touch on a topic and put it to bed without any depth.I like the topic but I kept waiting for something to pop and it never did. People that know me ask me what I do for a living When I start to explain it to them, many times their eyes just glaze over as if to say please stop, you re putting me to sleep This book explains what I do for a living in a fun way through the story lines of the characters I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the hedge fund business or to family members and friends who want to know how we spend our lives at the work. Hedge Fund is a book that I enjoyed from beginning to end Following the main character, Jasper, through his days as a partner in a firm that had become successful was interesting to me especially since hedge funds mentioned in the news is pretty common now Just like any business it has its ups and downs This book is not all business, we do get a taste of the main character s personal life I recommend this book I just finished reading HEDGE FUND by Holger Berndt It was a great read why Because it has great character development, an interesting storyline, and you get emotionally attached to the main characters I was sorry it ended and I look forward to reading about Jasper s next business venture in HEDGE FUND PART 2 I highly recommend it. The character development is okay in this book as is the plot, but the dialog in places is too formal and not conversational enough to be believable A couple of loose ends at the end of the story leaves you wondering about how things turned out Good education in the technical aspects of hedge funds though Kindle book L An excellent plain language view of how small hedge funds are founded, grow, prosper and often die It captures the intensity of running a small fund and the precariousness of their existence.
