Thumps, chomps, head butts and the might of the spunky youngest make this refreshingly ridiculous version of the original Grimm s tale a shockingly fun read. You can listen to our chat about this book on our When Mrs Goat Leaves Her Kids To Go Shopping, She Specifically Warns Them Not To Let In The Hungry Wolf But The Wolf Overhears Her He Pretends To Be Mrs Goat Returning, And Asks To Be Let In He Gobbles Up All But One The Littlest Kid Escapes And Tells His Mother What Has Happened When She Returns She Roars In Anger, And Butts The Wolf Until All Her Kids Have Shot Out Of His Mouth, And Then She Sends Him Right Over The Trees And Away For Ever I need to read Tony Ross books Fun with a message about listening to your mother and not being tricked by a wolf. I thought this one was cute The illustrations are fun. My boys loved this one I picked a bunch of fairy tale books in the non fiction area last time I was at the library and this turned out to be one of their favorites. most fun. My brother received this book for his birthday, back in 1990, and it has been a family favorite ever since I read it at my storytime today and the kids enjoyed the different voices and other sound effects that this story supports Note There is one part, where the kid hits the wolf s hand with a hammer I made a point of saying never to do this in real life, only in storybooks. Huhumit was okay, but maybe just a tad scary for little ones.
